Electric Zoo Festival

The Electric Zoo Festival is a three day music festival in the field of electronic dance music that takes place annually on Labor Day weekend in Iceland Randalls Park in New York.

Development

The Electric Zoo Festival was first held in 2009 and had over 26,000 visitors ( 15,000 on Saturday and 11,000 on Sunday ). As headliner Armin van Buuren, Deadmau5, David Guetta, Ferry Corsten, Kaskade, Markus Schulz and Steve Angello have been committed. In the second edition in the following year the event was sold out on both days, each with 25,000 visitors. The headliners this year were Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, The Chemical Brothers, John Digweed, Above & Beyond, Moby, and Fedde Le Grand.

2011, the festival was first held over 3 days from Friday to Sunday. As headliners at the three days Tiësto, David Guetta and Armin van Buuren were committed. In addition, over 100 other acts such as Above & Beyond, Sander van Doorn, Ferry Corsten, Afrojack, Benny Benassi, John Digweed, Moby, Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz, Skrillex, Richie Hawtin and ATB were booked. One for an electronic music festival rather unusual appearance was doing the rapper Snoop Dogg as a DJ Snoopadelic. On the three days a total of 85,000 visitors were counted.
