Elizabeth Armstrong

Elizabeth " Betsey " Armstrong ( born January 31, 1983 in Ann Arbor ) is an American water polo player. She plays for the New York Athletic Club and held the position of goalkeeper.

Sports career

Armstrong came in 2006 her debut for the U.S. water polo team. With the national team, she won several awards, notably the Gold Medal Water Polo World League in 2006 and 2007, the gold medal at the Pan American Games in 2007 and 2011, also gold medals at the World Swimming Championships in 2007 in Melbourne and 2009 in Rome and in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. In addition, she won at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the silver medal after the U.S. Department of the Dutch national team lost the final with 8:9.

In 2011, she participated with the national team at the Water Polo World Championships, finishing in 6th place.

Private life

Armstrong initially attended the Huron High School in Ann Arbor, where she received her degree in 2001, and then attended the University of Michigan, where she studied English and graduated. With her ​​older sister she came to the water polo sports and was a member of the water polo teams from their high school and later the university. Today she lives in Long Beach.
