Emad Mohammed

Emad Mohammed Ridha (Arabic عماد محمد رضا, DMG ʿ Imad Muhammad Rida ) ( born July 24, 1982 in Karbala ) is an Iraqi football player. The 1.70 meter tall striker plays for the Iraqi national team and currently stands at Al- Zamalek under contract.

Career

Mohammed began his career at the age of ten years at local club FC Karbala, where he played from 1992 to 1998. At the age of 16 years, he then moved to the Iraqi tradition of Al - Zawraa. National

His career began in the Iraqi National Team at the U- 20 selection, with whom he won the Junior Asian Championship in Iran in 2000. With the Olympic team of Iraq in 2003 and 2004, he played the qualifiers for the Olympic Games in Athens. In the final of the Iraq reached the fourth place, with Mohammed two goals, including the winning goal against Australia succeeded. He also took part in the Asia Cup 2004.

In April 2007, Mohammed was suspended due to public criticism of the Iraqi Football Association for two years by the Iraqi National Team, but pardoned after a formal apology in June of the same year. From the then national coach Jorvan Vieira however, he was appointed only as a reserve player for the Asia Cup 2007, which won the Iraq later. In qualifying for the 2010 World Cup, he was, however, returned to the national team. He also participated in South Africa at the Confederations Cup 2009.

In his first 81 internationals Emad Mohammed scored 24 goals (as of March 2010).
