Emerson Ferreira da Rosa (short Emerson, born April 4, 1976 in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil ) is a former Brazilian footballer.

Career

In 1997, the defensive midfielder made ​​the jump to Europe and moved from his Brazilian club Gremio tribe to Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga. Three highly successful seasons later he was transferred to the then Bundesliga record transfer fee of DM 36 million for AS Roma, with whom he was in 2000/ 01 Italian masters.

In summer 2004, Emerson joined together with success Fabio Capello to Juventus and completed two seasons for the Italian giants. As Juve was convicted in 2006 in the wake of the manipulation scandal to relegation to Serie B, he left the club and was, like Capello, committed by Real Madrid.
