Emma Guo

Emma Guo (* February 23, 1995 in Canberra ) is an Australian chess player.

Life

Emma Guo comes from Canberra. The chess games she started when she was six years old, taught by her older brother. She was trained in Canberra by Peter Simpson. She studied at the University of Canberra Senior Secondary College Lake Ginninderra at and subsequent to the Australian National University in Canberra.

Achievements

The Australian U10 championship they won in 2004 and 2005, the U12 Championship in 2006 in Brisbane. In 2007 she won in Canberra, the Australian U18 Championship of female youth. In the oceanic zone 2009 tournament in Gold Coast, at the same time the oceanic Championship, she finished in third place behind Arianne Caoili and Irina Berezina. For this, she received the International Chess Federation FIDE the title FIDE Women's Champion (WFM ). In the oceanic zone tournament in 2011 in Rotorua, she had 8.5 points after ten rounds and was on the first place on a par with Irina Berezina. A subsequent tie-break she lost to Berezina, but received for their results by 85 percent the title International Champion of Women (WIM). In the zone tournament in 2013 near Nadi, she was also tied behind Irina Berezina second.

The Australian women's national team played in the Chess Olympiads in 2010 and 2012 on the fourth on the second board. Their highest ever Elo rating was 2092 February-May 2013.

In the U18 championship of the Australian Capital Territorys in November 2012 in Canberra, she was the main referee.
