Emperor Sukō

The Japanese Emperor Suko (Japanese崇光 天皇, Suko Tennō ) (* May 25, 1334; † January 31, 1398 ) was the third of the so-called Ashikaga Pretenders ( though this term is not quite exact) of the Northern Court during the period of North and Südhöfe. He claimed the throne from November 18, 1348 to 26 November 1351st His personal name was originally Masuhito (益仁), later he changed it in Okihito (兴仁).

Genealogy

His father was Emperor Kōgon. His predecessor as Emperor of the North Court was Emperor Komyo, his uncle and younger brother of Emperor Kōgon.

Life
