The Era in Pontedera

The Era is a 55 km long tributary of the River Arno in Tuscany. It lies entirely within the province of Pisa and flows through it from south to north.

The sources of the era are the springing on the territory of the municipality of Volterra Viva Era ( spring in the forest at the Volpaie Pignano, length 7 km) and Era Morta ( source at Sant'Anastasio and Spicchiaiola, length 6 km). After the confluence of the Era runs in a north -westerly direction through a valley within the hills Colline Pisane and ends at Pontedera at 10 m from the left side of the Arno.
