Erik Svensson

Eric Svensson (Karl Eric Emanuel " Spänst " Svensson, born September 10, 1903 in Jonkoping, † 22 September 1986, Falkenberg ) was a Swedish track and field athlete, who competed in the triple jump and long jump.

At the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles Svensson won the silver medal in the triple jump and scored with his length of 15,32 m a Swedish national record. The winner of the Japanese Nambu Chūhei with 15.72 m ( world record), bronze medal went to his compatriot Kenkichi Ōshima ( 15.12 m). In the long jump Svensson finished fourth. The following year he became Swedish champion in both disciplines. The European Athletics Championships 1934 in Turin, he took behind the Dutchman Willem Peters another silver medal in the triple jump.

Eric Svensson was 1.80 m tall and weighed in his playing days 75 kg.
