The Estonian Music and Theatre Academy (Estonian: Eesti Muusika yes Teatriakadeemia ) is a public College of Music in Tallinn, Estonia. It goes back to the private high school of music was founded in 1918 Tallinn; In 1923 it was renamed the Tallinn Conservatory ( Tallinna Konservatoorium ), which was nationalized in 1935. Founded in 1957, the 1938 National Drama school was integrated as a drama school in the now Soviet educational institution. In 1989 to rename the Conservatory in Tallinn in 1993 and renamed the Estonian Academy of Music ( Eesti Muusikaakadeemia ); the Drama Faculty, in turn, in 1995 renamed the Higher Theatre School.

The Academy currently has approximately 700 students and 260 academic staff. The most famous graduate is the world-famous Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. Graduate and since 1994 professor for organ is the composer and organist Andres Uibo (* 1956). Among the students and later teachers - some of the predecessor, the Conservatory - belonged Harri Otsa, esters Mägi, Lepo Sumera, Jaan Rääts, Heino Jürisalu, Gustav Ernesaks, René Eespere and Els Aarne.
