Eumorpha anchemolus

Eumorpha anchemolus

Eumorpha anchemolus is a butterfly (moth ) from the family of moth ( Sphingidae ).

Features

The moths have a forewing length of 62-70 mm and are thus just the largest species of the genus. Your forewing outer margin is slightly serrated, and the wing is uniformly dark patterned. Thus, the species is well distinguished from other species of the genus occurring in North America Eumorpha. The species is only slightly variable in their pattern.

Occurrence and life

The species is distributed from northern Argentina to southern Mexico. Previously, she was captured only once in the United States, in Kerrville, Texas. The caterpillars were detected in Peru in Ampelopsis ( Grape Family ) as well as in Bolivia Cissus ( Grape Family ).
