Euroformula Open Championship

The Euro Formula Open (2001-2008 Spanish Formula 3 Championship, from 2009 to 2013 European F3 Open) is a formula racing series, which will be held with Formula 3 race car. The series is based in Spain, but also contributes to race in other European countries. The first season of the Spanish Formula 3 Championship took place in 2001.

Since the foundation of the series, the teams use Dallara chassis. As an engine supplier Fiat and Toyota committed in the championship. Toyota was from 2001 to 2006 and again since 2010 engine supplier to the series. Fiat delivered between 2007 and 2009 engines. Since 2005, there will take place a second championship, called the Copa. Pilots received in the Copa- rating, using older chassis.

Although you continue to use the current Formula 3 cars, the suffix " F3" in early 2014 was removed from the series name because the engines did not meet the FIA regulations for cost reasons.
