Racing Engineering

Racing Engineering is a Spanish racing team. Since 2005, the team competes in the GP2 series.

History

The team was founded by Alfonso de Orleans - Borbon in 1999 and is today run by him. It is headquartered in Sanlúcar de Barrameda near Jerez de la Frontera and the Circuito de Jerez. There are workshops, and management of the team. Transport, accommodation and public relations are organized by offices in Switzerland.

Racing Engineering initially joined in the Spanish Formula 3. From 2001 to 2006, the team dominated this race series, winning every year, the team standings and could with Ander Vilariño (2001), Ricardo Maurício (2003) and Borja García (2004 ) three times to win the drivers' championship.

2002 Racing Engineering also began an involvement in the former World Series by Nissan. In the first year the team won the team title, the driver Franck Montagny and Justin Wilson finished second and fourth in the drivers' standings. 2003 Racing Engineering finished second in the overall standings, Bas Leinders was third in the drivers' standings.

Racing Engineering starts since 2005 in the GP2 Series, the successor series of the formula 3000th A victory in the team standings the team remained so far failed, with Giorgio Pantano (2008) and Fabio Leimer (2013 ), however, were two drivers enter the championship.
