The European Route 6 ( E6 ) is an important north -south connection in Norway and on the west coast of Sweden. The European route extends over 3140 km from the southern Swedish city of Trelleborg as a motorway E 6 up to Norway and then pervades almost all of Norway to Finnmark. The road ends near the Norwegian border with Russia in Kirkenes.

The e 6 is expanded as a highway between Vellinge and Rabbalshede (408 miles), Strömstad and Dal (165 km, 10 km highway similar street in Oslo ) and Skaberud to Kolomoen ( 13 km). In 2013, the highway between Trelleborg and Hamar should be completed to 675 km, with the exception of 10 km highway similar road. The entire route is marked in Norway and Sweden only with the road number E 6.

In the winter months, several Norwegian sections of the E 6 only in the process of Kolonnekjørings are passable in bad weather.
