Evelyn García

Evelyn García Marroquín Yessenia ( born December 29, 1982 in Santa Ana ) is a Salvadoran cyclist who is active in road and rail. Since the early 2000s, it is one of the most successful women cyclists in Central America.

Sports career

At the age of 15 years, Evelyn García began in 1997 with the cycling. Since 2001 she has been active in professional cycling. After Maureen Kaila (1996 and 2000) it was the second Salvadoran cycling athlete who participated in the Olympic Games. She started three times - 2004, 2008 and 2012 - at the Olympics; 2012 in London, she was the flag bearer of El Salvador in the opening ceremony. Their best finish at the Olympics in 2008 was a twelfth place in the individual pursuit on the track.

2013 García won the 20 -kilometer individual time trial at the Central American Games, where she took part in the jersey of their country.

In December 2013 it was announced that Evelyn Garcia is pregnant and expecting the birth of twins in April 2014.
