Exdorf is a village in the southern district Schmalkalden- Meiningen in Thuringia. Since 1 December 2007, the formerly politically autonomous village is a village in the municipality grave field.
Geography
Exdorf is the most south-eastern part of the municipality. The place is situated on the upper reaches of the west at the site flowing past Jüchse, a southern tributary of the river Werra. The town located about 1 km southeast Obendorf was until 2007 part of the municipality Exdorf and belongs to the district of Exdorf within the community grave field.
History
For the first time Exdorf was mentioned under the name Eggisdorph in 951. Rule default, the location in the Official Themar first belonged to the county of Henneberg, after 1583 to various Saxon duchies and 1826-1918 of Saxe -Meiningen. In 1920 he came to Thuringia. Exdorf 1568-1614 was affected by witch hunts: Three women and a man came in witch trials.
