Facundo Bagnis

Facundo Bagnis (born 27 February 1990 in Rosario ) is an Argentine tennis player.

Life and career

Bagnis could achieve success so far mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour. He won his first tournament in 2011: In March, he secured together with Federico del Bonis the doubles title in Salinas, in April before he could celebrate the first individual title just a month later. He defeated his compatriot Diego Junqueira by 1:6, 6:6 behind to 1:6, 7:64, 6:0. In the same year, but in January, he made his debut at the World Tour in Chile at the Movistar Open. In the first round he lost to the eventual finalists Santiago Giraldo in three sets. His first game in the World Tour, he won in 2012 at the Copa Claro in Buenos Aires, when he could beat Leonardo Mayer in three sets. In the second round he had no chance against David Ferrer. At Grand Slam tournaments he yet succeeded not successfully qualifying for the main draw, although he already took several attempts.

In July 2013 he won at the side of Thomaz Bellucci the ATP tournament in Stuttgart; they defeated in the final of the two poles Tomasz Bednarek and Mateusz Kowalczyk. By his first World Tour doubles title, he advanced on rank 87 of the double World Ranking, which he was first listed among the Top 100.
