He was born on April 27, 1985 in Mar del Plata, Argentina, and now lives in Buenos Aires.
His first title on the Challenger Tour Horacio Zeballos won in 2008 in Recanati. The big breakthrough came in the Argentine in 2009. He won five Challenger titles in eight finals and made it into the top 50 in the world rankings. At the U.S. Open, he qualified for the first time a Grand Slam tournament and was eliminated in round two against Tomas Berdych of. End of the year he was in St. Petersburg in his fourth ATP tournament in the final and missed a match point in the tiebreak of the third set against qualifier Sergiy Stachowskyj.
After four first-round defeats at the start of the 2010 season, he reached the quarter-finals in Buenos Aires to victories over Gaston Gaudio and Carlos Moyá. In Miami he was after beating Andreas Seppi and Gilles Simon in the third round and the clay tournament in Houston he defeated in the quarterfinals surprisingly the top-seeded Fernando Gonzalez, number eleven in the world rankings, with 6:4, 6:4. Only in the semi-finals he lost to the eventual winner Juan Ignacio Chela.
Since 2010 he plays for the Argentine Davis Cup team.
