Then the tempo indication changes to " Moderato Cantabile " and the right hand begins with the quiet in neighborhoods and straight eighth tune designed to further speed in the left hand eighth note triplets.

Similarities with the "Moonlight Sonata "

In some aspects of the play Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, which is also composed in C sharp minor is similar. Two measures after the melody begins, it comes to an abrupt on and off using the exact same notes as the cadenza in the third movement ( Presto agitato ) of that plant. The climax to a six-four chord is also similar in both pieces. In addition, the central part of the Fantaisie -Impromptu and the second movement of the Moonlight Sonata in D flat major, the first and third sets, respectively in C-sharp minor standing.

Because of these and other reasons Ernst Oster writes:

"Chopin Beethoven Understood to a degree did no one who has written on the C ♯ minor Sonata Fantaisie -Impromptu or the ever Has Understood him. The Fantaisie -Impromptu is ... Perhaps the only instance where one genius disc -less to us - if only by Means of a composition of his own -. Actually what he hears in the work of another genius "

"Chopin, Beethoven knew almost no one who has ever written about the Moonlight Sonata Fantaisie -Impromptu or. The Fantaisie -Impromptu ... is perhaps the only case in which a brilliant composer us - even if only by means of his own work -. Reveals what he actually heard in the work of another genius "

Subsequent use of the composition

The melody of the middle part of the piece was used in the song I'm Always Chasing Rainbows. Moreover, it is in the episode " Play with fire" of the cartoon Tom and Jerry in the movie and listen to autumn storms. In Woody Woodpecker short " Musical Moments from Chopin " comes before the play. It is also heard in various episodes of the television series Lost.

The motif was the Variations sur un thème de Chopin cited in the variation of Federico Mompou 10, which otherwise is based on the Prelude No. 7 in A Major.
