Fantasy Fair and Magic Mountain Music Festival

The Fantasy Fair and Magic Mountain Music Festival was held on 10 and 11 June 1967 at Cushing Memorial Amphitheatre on Mount Tamalpais north of San Francisco held a week before the Monterey Pop Festival. Approximately 15,000 visitors saw an eclectic music program, including Canned Heat, Country Joe and the Fish, Captain Beefheart, The Byrds and Jefferson Airplane. The Doors had their first major gig here.

The festival, which was organized by the radio station KFRC, one of the first rock festival ever. It can be seen as part of the Summer of Love in 1967.

Admission was $ 2, all proceeds were donated to the Hunters Point Child Care Center in San Francisco.
