Farra d'Isonzo

Farra d' Isonzo ( in furlanischen dialect: Fare or Fara ) is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1749 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Gorizia, in Friuli- Venezia Giulia. The community is located about 8.5 km west- southwest of Gorizia. The Isonzo forms the southern boundary of the municipality.

History

The village is actually Lombard origin and is part of a donation of Otto I to the Patriarch of Aquileia Roduald 967 mentioned in a document.

Traffic

Along the route of the former State Road 351 di Cervignano (now a regional road ) leads the Raccordo Autostradale 17 Villese - Gorizia from the A4 to the Slovenian border.
