Farsø

Farsø municipality until 2007 was a commune in Northern Jutland in northern Denmark. She was created in 1970 from the merger of the following parish communities that were themselves part of rural communities:

  • Ullits and Fovlum (Town Ullits - Fovlum )
  • Lovns and Alstrup (Town Lovns - Alstrup )
  • Strandby and Farsø (Town Strandby - Farsø )
  • A small part of Vesterbølle whose main part is joined Aalestrup

The municipality is situated on the Limfjord, is at Strandby the important archaeological place Ertebølle. Neighboring municipalities were in the north Løgstør, in the east and in the south Aars Aalestrup. In the municipal reform of 2007 Farsø was merged with this the new Vesthimmerland municipality.
