FC Locarno

It was created on 1 July 1906, was founded by immigrant German Swiss and a Ticino. The club then played for years in the lower leagues before he Ticino champion in the season 1926/27, and rose to the highest Swiss league. The FC Locarno then remained for several decades in the two highest football leagues. Largest club success was reaching the Swiss Cup finals in 1951, where they lost to FC La Chaux -de-Fonds.

In recent decades, the club usually played in the first league, the third- highest division. In 1998 /99 and in 2005 /06 but in the National League B, respectively, the Challenge League.
