Félix Córdova Dávila

Félix Lope María Córdova Dávila ( born November 20, 1878 in Vega Baja, † December 3, 1938 in Condado ) was a Puerto Rican politician. Between 1917 and 1932 he represented Puerto Rico as a delegate ( Resident Commissioner ) in the House of Representatives of the United States.

Career

Félix Córdova Dávila attended the public schools in Manati. After a subsequent law degree from the National University Law School in Washington DC and his 1903 was admitted to the bar he began in San Juan to work in this profession. Between 1904 and 1917 he worked as a judge in various courts in Puerto Rico. In 1908, he acted for some time as a prosecutor in Aguadilla. Politically, he was a member of the Unión de Puerto Rico.

On July 16, 1917 Dávila was elected as a non-voting delegate in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he became the successor of Luis Muñoz Rivera on August 7, 1917. After three re- elections, he was able to exercise this mandate until his resignation on 11 April 1932. His resignation took place after his appointment as Judge of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, the Tribunal Supremo. This office he held until his death on 3 December 1938. His son Jorge Luis Córdova was also Resident Commissioner.
