Filip Lazarov

Filip Lazarov ( Macedonian: Филип Лазаров; * April 21, 1985 in Veles, SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Macedonian handball player. Lazarov is mostly used on the rear space left.

Career

Association

The 1.99 m wide and 100 -pound right-handed started his professional career in 2003 at the Macedonian club RK Metalurg Skopje, with whom he won the 2006 league and cup. After a season at the Hungarian Club PLER KC in Budapest in 2007, he returned back to Metalurg. 2008, 2010 and 2011, he won the title again and, in 2009, 2010 and 2011 the trophy. Internationally, he reached the quarterfinals in the EHF Cup 2007/ 08 and in the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup 2008/09. For the season 2011/12 he moved to RK Pelister Bitola. After a short time, however, he joined the competitors RK Vardar Skopje. With Vardar he was champion in 2013 and 2012 Cup Winners' Cup. In the EHF Champions League 2013/14, he qualified for the knockout stages.

National

Filip Lazarov is the squad of the Macedonian national team. At the 2009 World Championships he reached number 11 in the 2012 European Championship and fifth at the World Championships in 2013 the 14th. Previously, he played 33 international matches in which he scored 96 goals. (As of February 21, 2014 )
