First TransPennine Express

First TransPennine Express is a British railway company and a joint subsidiary of First Group, Keolis. It operates intercity services within the North of England and from there to Scotland. The name derives from the Pennines, which is affected by many compounds.

First TransPennine Express is currently offering 17 (part) on routes that are bundled on three main lines and branch off from this:

  • North TransPennine of Newcastle on York, Leeds and Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool Lime Street with branches, inter alia, Middlesbrough and Hull
  • South TransPennine from Cleethorpes via Doncaster, Sheffield and Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Airport
  • TransPennine North West of Edinburgh, Carlisle, Lancaster and Manchester Picadilly to Manchester Airport with branches, inter alia, Glasgow and Blackpool
