Flag officers are Marine officers in the rank group of generals and admirals. The NATO rank code is OF- OF- 6 to 10th

German Navy

In the German Navy and the German Navy, there are four grades for flag officers:

  • Rear Admiral, according Einsternegeneral
  • Rear Admiral, according to two- star general
  • Vice Admiral, according to three- star general
  • Admiral, according to four- star general

German flag officers serving in the Navy Command and its subordinate departments in the Ministry of Defense in NATO and EU rods in the armed forces base and the Central Medical Service of the Bundeswehr.

From the flagship of a flag officer leads a tactical or operational ( international ) warship association only exceptionally ( Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Atalanta). EUFOR is an example of a branches of the armed force overarching task force. Commander Task Group ( CTG) of national education associations are mostly sea captain.

Flag officers run as a command character ( on buildings ) has its own flag. In ships it is put in place of the commander pennant when the flag officer is embarked as an admiral or superior.
