Flash (Band)

Flash was a short-lived British progressive rock band.

History

The group was founded in August 1971 by Peter Banks, who had just left the later very successful band Yes. Flash played during the winter 1971/72 their first album one, yet along with former Yes keyboardist Tony Kaye, the Badger founded shortly thereafter. The attempts Kaye replace it with new keyboard player (Rick Wakeman and Patrick Moraz were talking ) failed, so the band carried on as a quartet and successful, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United States has given concerts in the United Kingdom. The less and less frequent keyboard passages were taken from the singer Colin Carter.

The group was musically similar to the early Yes and had titled Small Beginnings a single hit. You could sell from their first album, which was recorded by Martin Birch, more than 100,000 copies.

Result of declining success to Banks separated in November 1973 by the group, which led to its dissolution. The at that time already completed third album was released under the name Flash - featuring England 's Peter Banks.

After several unsuccessful attempts at reunification were flash 2010 with a different line - without Banks - again.
