Flavius Domide

Flavius ​​Domide Virgil ( born May 11, 1946 in Arad ) is a former Romanian football player. He played 342 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A, and was a member of the Romanian squad for the World Cup 1970.

Career

Domide began in 1959 with the football at UTA Arad. In the summer of 1966, he moved up to the squad for the first team, which was represented in the highest Romanian league, the Divizia A. After a few uses in the season 1966/67, and increased use of times in the following season he was in the 1968/69 season to key players. In 1969, he was just like a year later, celebrating the Romanian championship with his team. With eleven goals he achieved 1969/70 his best goal tally. During the Club 1969/70 was defeated in the first round clear Legia Warsaw in the European Cup of Champions - Domide succeeded consolation goal - he was able to move a year later after two draws against Feyenoord Rotterdam on away goals in the next round, left there but against Red star Belgrade.

The 1971/72 season could end Domide with his club in fourth place and moved into the UEFA Cup. Domide remained true to his home club when he had to fight for relegation in the season 1975/76 for the first time. After relegation in 1979, he ended his active career.

National

Domide played 18 games for the Romanian national team, scoring three goals. He made his debut when he was in a friendly against world champions England (0-0 ) off the bench in the 77th minute for Nicolae Dobrin on November 6, 1968. Already in his second outing on November 23, 1968 World Cup qualifier against Switzerland (2-0) he was able to enter for the first time on the scoresheet. In the following years he was a regular in the team of coach Angelo Niculescu, who appointed him in 1970 in his squad for the World Cup in Mexico. There, however, he did not play.

Also in the following European Championship qualifier Domide belonged to the circle of the national team, but was in 1971, initially not taken into account and only came in November 1971 against Czechoslovakia back into the team back. He was in May 1972 on that team, which was eliminated only in a decision match against Hungary in the European Championship quarter- finals. On September 20, 1972 he played his last match in the World Cup qualifier against Finland.
