Flerden

Flerden (Romansh Flearda ) is a municipality in the district of Thusis in the district of Rhein Behind the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

Geography

The place is a scattered village and the northernmost of the upper Heinzenberger villages. Of the total area of 606 ha community 331 ha agricultural Nutzgebiet ( about half of these mountain farms ), 182 ha of woods and forests covered 71 ha of unproductive area (mostly mountains) and the remaining 22 ha settlement area.

Flerden borders, Masein, Cazis, Safien, and Tschappina Urmein.

Population

In the first half of the 19th century, the population declined due to emigration strong ( 1808-1850: -17.6 %). Then it stagnated ( with the exception of 1888 and 1900 ) to the year 1910 to a total population of 120 people. Between 1910 and 1941 there was a strong population growth ( 1910 to 1941: 24 %). After another decade of stagnation occurred from 1950 to 1970 to a large exodus from the church ( 1950-1970: -30 %). After this all-time low since the population is growing continuously and has nearly doubled to a new high (1970-2004: 82 %).

Languages

Romansh ( the dialect Sutsilvan ) was originally spoken by a majority of the population as a first language. This was until modern times that. However, while in 1880 63.9 % of the population were using this language, the proportion in 1941 had already fallen to 12.6%. German is the sole official language. Origin - Nationality

From the end of 2004 191 inhabitants, 188 ( = 98.43 %), Swiss citizen. At the last census was 157 ( = 98.13 %), Swiss nationals, including four dual citizens. The few immigrants come from Italy and Germany.

Religions - faiths

Between 1530 and 1540, the Reformation was introduced. For centuries, the entire population of the Evangelical Reformed Church belonged to. By leaving the church and immigration, this has changed. As of 2000, there were 72.50% and 16.25 % Evangelical Protestant Roman Catholic Christians. In addition, there were 8.75% non-religious. The remaining 2.5 % of residents did not detail their creed.
