The Fort McMurray Airport ( IATA: YMM, ICAO: CYMM ) is located 13 km southeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Because of the Athabasca oil sands, the city has significantly risen to residents and is now the fifth largest city in Alberta.
The airport will be expanded on the basis of more than 900,000 passengers and 60,000 aircraft movements per year, since the airport for an eighth of the passengers was built. It is a new terminal to be built and possibly a second runway.
