Francis Frederick Reh

Francis Frederick Reh ( born January 9, 1911 in the Bronx, New York City; † 14 November 1994), was a Roman Catholic bishop.

Deer visited the Cathedral College Prepararory Seminary in New York City, St. Joseph Seminary in Yonkers, New York and finally, the Pontifical North American College in Rome and the Pontifical Gregorian University. On December 8, 1935 he was ordained a priest in Rome. After deer returned to the Archdiocese of New York, where he has now worked. In 1951 he was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Archdiocese. In the year he received the papal honor of monsignor title and was vice-rector of the Pontifical North American College.

Four years later, deer became rector of St. Joseph Seminary in New York. In the same year he accompanied in October Cardinal Francis Spellman to Rome, where the conclave that, in the course of Cardinal Angelo Roncalli the new Pope John XXIII. was elected, took part.

On June 4, 1962 deer was appointed Bishop of Charleston. He received his episcopal consecration Cardinal Spellman on June 29th of the same year. Co-consecrators were the New York Auxiliary Bishops John Joseph Maguire and John Michael Fearns.

Two years later he was called to Rome, where he became rector of the Pontifical North American College and Titular Bishop of Macriana in Mauretania on 5 September and that the bishop of Saginaw on December 11, 1968 and remained until his appointment. Deer occurred on 29 April 1980 by this office back.
