Francis Sears

Francis Weston Sears (* October 1, 1898; † November 1975) was an American physicist.

After the First World War it took Sears as Professor of Physics in Cambridge (Massachusetts), to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). After 35 years, Sears moved in 1956 to the Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.

The Optical Society of America Sears appointed a "Fellow " and besides, he was also a very active member of the American Association of Physics Teachers.

Shortly after his 77th birthday Francis Sears died in November 1975.
