François Lamy (politician)

François Lamy ( born October 31, 1959 in Brunoy, department Essonne ) is a French politician of the Parti Socialiste (PS ), and since May 2012 Minister with responsibility for cities in the Ministry of Regional Development and Housing in the cabinet of Prime Minister Jean -Marc Ayrault.

Life

Studies, careers and local politicians

Lamy, the son of a civil engineer and cousin of actresses Alexandra Lamy and Audrey Lamy, attended the Lycée Michelet in Vanves Lycée Buffon in Paris and the École Saint- Sulpice and completed after the Baccalauréat at the École Normale Primaire in Étiolles. He then worked from 1981 to 1985 as an employee for socio-cultural animation and as a teacher.

After a subsequent work as an assistant in the party headquarters of the Parti Socialiste 1988-1991 he was Head of Cabinet of Robert Chapuis, who was Secretary of State for Vocational Training at the Ministry of National Education during this time.
