François Léotard

François Leotard ( born March 26, 1942 in Cannes ) is a French politician.

François Leotard belonged to the bourgeois-liberal party UDF and was its chairman from 1996 to 1998. He was over 20 years Member of Parliament. From 1986 to 1988 he was Minister of Culture and Communications, 1993-1995 Secretary of Defense. He was from 1977 to 1997 mayor of Fréjus. After political financial affairs within his party PRC Leotard has now ended his political career.

The singer and actor Philippe Leotard was his brother.
