François-Virgile Dubillard

François- Virgile Cardinal Dubillard ( born February 16, 1845 in Soye, France, † December 1, 1914 in Chambéry ) was Archbishop of Chambery.

Life

François- Virgile Dubillard received his theological and philosophical education in Vesoul, Besançon and Rome. He received his doctorate in Rome for the Doctor of Catholic theology and received on 5 September 1869, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

From 1869 to 1872 he worked in the pastoral community, before he became in 1872 professor of dogmatics and history of dogma at the seminary of Besançon. In the years 1881-1890 he was standing in front of this seminar as rain. From 1890 to 1899 headed François- Virgile Dubillard as Vicar General of the diocese of Besançon management.

On December 14, 1899, he was named Pope Leo XIII. bishop of Quimper, Pope Pius X appointed him in 1907 the management of the Archdiocese of Chambéry and took him on 27 November 1911 as cardinal priest with the titular church of Santa Susanna in the College of Cardinals to.

François- Virgile Dubillard could not participate in the conclave of 1914 due to illness. He died on 1 December 1914 in Chambéry and was buried in the local cathedral.
