François-Wolff Ligondé

François- Wolff Ligonde ( born January 17, 1928 in Les Cayes, † April 8, 2013 ) was Archbishop of Port -au -Prince.

Life

François- Wolff Ligonde visited one of the Order Frères de l' Instruction chrétienne (FIC ) -led school and the Collège Saint Martial and the Ecole Apostolique Notre -Dame. He received on 11 July 1954, the ordained priest by the Bishop of Port -au -Prince, Remy Augustin. In France, he graduated from 1954 to 1956 to study theology at the University of Angers ( 1954-1956). From 1956 to 1964, Ligonde professor at the Collège Saint -Louis de Jérémie. In 1956, he graduated in civil law at the law faculty of the Collège Saint -Louis de Jérémie. From 1964 to 1966 he completed his theological doctorate studies in Europe, especially on the Swiss University of Fribourg.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 20 August 1966 Archbishop of Port-au -Prince. The Secretary for extraordinary tasks of the Church Antonio Samore consecrated him on 28 October of the same year the bishop; Co-consecrators were Albert François Cousineau, CSC, Archbishop ad personam of Cap- Haïtien, and Remy Augustin SMM, Coadjutor Bishop of Port -de- Paix.
