Frank Heinemann

Frank Heinemann ( born January 8, 1965 in Bochum), nicknamed Funny, is a former German football player and current coach.

Playing career

For the 1983/84 season changed Heinemann, together with Martin Kree, from the A- youth of the VfL ​​Bochum for amateur team in the Oberliga Westfalen.

The midfielder has been active throughout his career as a professional football player for VfL Bochum. From the season 1986/87 until 1995/96, he played 195 Bundesliga games (14 goals) as well as 21 second-division games ( 1 goal). His greatest success with VfL as a player was participating in the Cup final in 1988 against Eintracht Frankfurt ( 0:1).

Coaching career

1996 Frank Heinemann assistant coach at VfL and assisted since Klaus Topp Möller, Ernst Middendorp, Bernard Dietz, Ralf Zumdick, Rolf sheepfold, Peter Neururer and in 2005 Marcel Koller. Among the chief trainers Klaus Topp Möller and Peter Neururer Heinemann reached with VfL Bochum in the years 1996/1997 and 2003/ 04 to qualify for the UEFA Cup. For the season 2011/12 Frank Heinemann has taken over the co- coaching job at Hamburger SV under head coach Michael Oenning and retained this also, as Oenning was discharged after 6 matches and replaced by interim coach Rodolfo Esteban Cardoso.
