Frank Parker

Frank Andrew Parker ( born January 31, 1916 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, † July 24, 1997 in San Diego, California ) was an American tennis player.

Biography

The baseline player was at home on all surfaces and won both on grass in Forest Hills as well as on sand in Roland Garros stadium. In the years 1944 and 1945 he won the U.S. Championships and 1948 and 1949, the French Championships in men's singles.

He won at Wimbledon in 1949 continue to double in 1949 in a double in Paris and 1943 in a double in Forest Hills.

He also won in 1937, 1939, 1946 and 1948 with the American team to the Davis Cup. In 1966, the induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
