Frans van Houten

Frans van Houten ( born 1960 in the Netherlands) is (commonly known as Philips) as the successor to Gerard Kleisterlee since April 1, 2011 acting CEO of the Dutch company Royal Philips Electronics.

Life

Frans van Houten grew up in the Netherlands and studied economics and business management at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He earned Finally the master degrees. Van Houten went to Philips, where in Marketing and Sales at Philips Data Systems he worked in 1986. Here he worked in various positions at Philips, and was founded in 2002 Vice - President of the Consumer Electronics.

In November 2004, he was CEO of Philips Semiconductors. In this role, he led a spin off of this division, which led to the founding of the company NXP Semiconductors on 1 October 2006. Van Houten left his position as CEO of NXP on 31 December 2008.
