Wisse Dekker

Wisse Dekker ( born April 26, 1924 in Eindhoven, † 25 August, 2012 Zoutelande ) was a Dutch manager. Dekker was from 1981 to 1986 CEO of Philips.

Life

Dekker studied economics in Tilburg. In 1948, he joined Philips and worked in the regional coordination office of Philips for Southeast Asia and from 1948 in various positions of the Philips organization in Indonesia. In October 1956, he returned to Eindhoven and was deputy head of the regional coordination office for Southeast Asia. He took the same function in 1959 for the Philips range Far East until he was in 1961 appointed head of this division. In November 1966, he was General Manager for Philips Far East, based in Tokyo. In early 1972 he was a board member of the Philips organization in the UK and a little later, in March of this year, the senior manager. In April 1976 he moved to the board of the parent company NV Philips Gloeilampenfabrieken, Eindhoven, a. In early 1979, he became Deputy Chairman of the Board. In December 1981, Wisse Dekker President and CEO of the world group. He held until 1986 this position. He was replaced by Cornelis van der Klugt.
