Gerard Philips

Gerard Leonard Frederik Philips ( born October 9, 1858 in Zaltbommel, † January 25, 1942 in The Hague) was a Dutch industrialist. Together with his father Frederik Philips he co-founded the company Philips as a family business in 1891. Gerard and his younger brother Anton Philips changed the business by establishing the NV Philips Gloeilampenfabrieken (Philips bulbs factories) in 1912. Was the first CEO of Philips Corporation, put Gerard Anton with the basis for the multinational Philips Group.
