Franz Pachl

Franz Pachl ( born January 8, 1951 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German Grandmaster for chess composition. He is a former German mini golf champion.

Chess

Pachl began in 1975 with the chess composition after he was pushed by the problem part of the chess - echo it. White Hermann Auer supported him in the following years and was responsible for the publication of his first task. Pachl was initially interested in two Züger and helpmates, 1988 by Markus Manhart also for fairy chess.

Until December 2005 Pachl had published 848 works, including 193 award-winning works. 306 pieces were created in collaboration with other authors. He was appointed in 1989 to the International Master of chess compositions. In September 2005, he was awarded 81.42 points in FIDE albums with the grand master title for chess composition. Since 1988 he is already referee for International chess compositions in the two Züger and helpmates. Since 1984 he has worked over forty times as judges.

At the World Cup for chess composition 2001-2003, he reached the 3rd place in the helpmate department and the 6th in the fairy chess.

Pachl was from 1994 Head of the Department of Two Züger swallow and as of 2000 the helpmate department of the magazine issue forum. In March 2008, he übernachm as the successor of the surprisingly late Manfred Seidel a composition section of castling in Europe.

Franz Pachl is the official Chess Federation Rhineland -Palatinate, Palatinate Chess Federation and SK Ludwigshafen 1912.

Miniature golf

From 1973 Pachl dealt with the mini golf. In 1977 he was in German 's singles champion and 1981 and 1982 runner-up. He was team champion six times, including 1975 and 1977 with the MGC Ludwigsburg.

Private

Pachl had completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and worked for more than three decades as a clerk at BASF.

He has been married since 1972 and since 1975 a son.
