Vladimir Bron

Vladimir Akimovich Bron ( born 14 September 1909 in Nikolayev, Russian Empire, now Mykolaiv, Ukraine; † 1 October 1985 in Sverdlovsk, Russian: Владимир Акимович Брон ) was a Russian chess composer.

At the age of eleven years Bron learned the game of chess. But only in 1920 after his relocation to Kharkov he started at chess club in the city, which was led by Alexei Alexandrovich Alekhine Alexander Alekhine 's brother, to systematically deal with the chess literature. 1928-1946 he hit on the chess board on a number of Soviet masters. However, he felt more for chess composition, especially to the studies drawn.

Private

Bron was a doctor of engineering science. He worked in the chemistry of the silicate technology and in the development of fire-resistant materials. In his field, he published 150 scientific papers. After the Second World War he lived in Sverdlovsk.
