Friedrich August Krubsacius

Friedrich August Krubsacius ( born March 21, 1718, Dresden, † November 28, 1789 ) was a German architect and architectural theorist. It was 1755 Saxon court architect, 1764 Professor of architecture at the Dresden Art Academy and in 1776 chief master builder.

He was an honorary member of the Leipzig Economic Societät.

Impact

Krubsacius contributed significantly to the development of classicism in Saxony and had thus a great influence on the subsequent Dresdner generation of architects.

Of his students were, inter alia, Johann August Giesel, Christian Friedrich August Gottlob Schuricht and woods.

  • Castle in Martinskirchen ( 1751-56 )
  • Castle park of the castle in Otterwisch ( 1752-54 )
  • Southern extension of the castle Zschepplin ( 1762)
  • Restoration of the ballroom of the Kurlander Palace in Dresden ( 1763)
  • Hoym tomb in the parish church in Thallwitz ( 1764)
  • Palace of Sekundogenitur in today's flowering Park (1764-1770)
  • New Castle in Neschwitz ( 1766-75; destroyed in 1945. )
  • Country House in Dresden (now Dresden City Museum ) ( 1770-1776 )
  • Palais Hoym, rebuilt after the Seven Years' War (1766)
