Friedrich Wilhelm Riemer

Life

Friedrich Wilhelm Riemer, son of an official came in 1787 ( 13 years old ) on the Maria Magdalena Gymnasium in Breslau. Because of its distinct and orthographic handwriting of the rector Johann Kaspar Friedrich Manso took him frequently to clean it often even illegible writing his essays, reviews and poems. From 1812 to 1821 was Riemer teacher at the Weimar Wilhelm -Ernst -Gymnasium. From 1814, he was librarian. In 1827 he succeeded Christian August Vulpius as chief librarian of the Weimar library. On January 22, 1831 Goethe set testamentary Riemer next Eckermann as editor of his in the final edition not yet published works one.
