Frits Landesbergen

Frits country Bergen ( born January 18, 1961 in Voorschoten ) is a Dutch jazz musician (vibraphone, percussion ) and arranger.

Country mountain comes from a musical family; his father was a guitarist. In 1985 he graduated from the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam. He first played in a trio of Pim Jacobs before he formed his own band, he continued to perform with musicians such as Cor Bakker, Georgie Fame, Milt Jackson, Toots Thielemans, Eddie Daniels, Scott Hamilton, Joe Pass, Buddy DeFranco, Monty Alexander and Harry Allen on. He is also on albums with the hr-Bigband ( " Swinging Christmas ", 2001 ), Laura Fygi, Madeline Bell, the Rosenberg Trio, Thijs van Leer, the Metropole Orkest and the London Symphony Orchestra involved.

He is a lecturer for vibraphone, percussion and ensemble playing at the Conservatory of The Hague. His eponymous uncle (* 1932) is also active as a vibraphonist.

Prizes and awards

Country's mountains was awarded the Wessel Ilcken Young Investigator Award and the Pall Mall Swing Award.
