Fritz Fuchs

Fritz Fuchs ( born October 18, 1943 in Kaiserslautern ) is a former German football player and coach.

Playing career

Fritz Fuchs graduated from 1969 to 1975 a total of 168 games in the Bundesliga for 1.FC Kaiserslautern, scoring 12 goals. Previously, he was a player of the legendary "Village Association" SV Alsenborn, which failed several times nearly in the Bundesliga promotion round.

Coaching career

The highlight of his coaching career in the 1980s and 1990s was the rise in 1986 with the rank outsiders FC 08 Homburg in the Bundesliga. There he but was discharged after only three games. In the 2nd Bundesliga, he previously coached the SC Freiburg (1983 /84) and Kickers Offenbach (1984 /85). He then supervised in the 2nd league still Arminia Bielefeld ( 1986-1988 ), again the SC Freiburg (January to April 1989) and 1.FC Saarbrücken (1993 /94); in the regional at the 1 FC Union Berlin ( September 30, 1998 to June 1, 1999) and subsequently Rot-Weiss Essen ( until 27 October 1999). In the season 2005/ 06 he was responsible for the amateurs of 1 FC Saarbrücken in the Oberliga West and reached the fifth place team. For a game, he was also interim coach of the first team in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Early 2008, Fox was voted " Team Manager and team sport" of the 1st FC Kaiserslautern called and thus succeeds Klaus Toppmöller. On March 30, 2008, he explained on the basis of misunderstandings with the Board his immediate resignation from this position.

In April 2009 he took over the post of sporting director at Eintracht Trier, where he was dismissed in May 2010 after a disastrous verlaufenen season 2009/10.

From January 2013 to July 2013 he was a consultant for the regional league SVN Zweibrücken active.

Since August 2013 he coached the SV Hermersberg (National Football League ).

Family

His son Uwe was last coach of VfL Osnabrück. The deceased younger brother Werner also worked as a football coach.
