Fulvio Pelli

Fulvio Pelli ( born January 26, 1951 in Lugano ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP.Die liberals ). He was from 2009 to 2012 the first President of the party and since 2005 was the last president of the Free Democratic Party previously (FDP), one of the predecessors of the parties FDP.Die liberals.

Life

After visiting the elementary schools and the high school in Lugano Pelli studied law at the Universities of Bern and Zurich. He earned a licentiate in 1974 in Zurich and received his doctorate three years later at Arthur Meier - Hayoz. In 1977 he also acquired the lawyer and notary. For four years he was deputy prosecutor of the Sottoceneri. In 1981, he joined the law firm of his father Ferruccio Pelli. Today he is the owner of this firm. He is also Chairman of five companies, including the Ticino cantonal bank.

Pelli is married and has three daughters. He lives in Sorengo.

Policy

From 1980 to 1990 Fulvio Pelli was a member of the municipal council of the city of Lugano. 1995 From 1983 're he belonged to the Ticino cantonal parliament. From this position he resigned when he was elected in 1995 to the National Council. This he became a member continuously. 2002-2005, he chaired the Liberal Democrat Group in the Federal Assembly. Party President of the FDP

From 5 March 2005 to the merger with the Liberal Party of Switzerland on 1 January 2009 Pelli was the last president of the Free Democratic Party. Since the merger of the two parties to FDP.Die Liberal he was the first president of the new party until 2012, this was his second presidential office. 1988-2000 he was the Ticino FDP before.
