Gaetano D' Agostino ( born June 4, 1982 in Palermo) is an Italian football player.

He is an attacking midfielder and is since 2011 when AC Siena in Serie A under contract.

Career

In the club

Gaetano D' Agostino started his career in 1990 in the youth division of the U.S. Palermo where he once could manage to achieve 100 goals in a season. In 1998 he joined 16 -year-old to AS Roma, where he was part of the squad coached by Zdeněk Zeman Czech professional team immediately. On November 5, 2000 D'Agostino was under coach Fabio Capello in a 4-2 victory against Brescia Calcio his Serie A debut. At the end of the season 2000 /01 he celebrated winning the Italian league title with Roma.

In the summer of 2001, he moved Gaetano D' Agostino, as part of the transfer of Antonio Cassano to Rome to Bari, who received 50% of his transfer rights. In Bari, the Italian team regular for two years in Serie B. In 2003 he returned to AS Roma, where he not very often was used in the following two seasons. In January 2005, Gaetano D' Agostino went to the Sicilian club FC Messina, where he regular player in Serie A was under Bortolo Mutti and in 42 games scoring five goals.

In summer 2006, D' Agostino moved to Udinese Calcio, where he in 2008/ 09 season succeeded the final breakthrough. The midfielder led the Friulian club with eleven goals in 36 games on the seventh place in the standings and aroused the interest of the big clubs. In the summer of 2010, he was finally obliged by Fiorentina, with whom he signed a three-year fixed-term contract.

In the National Team

After he had played for the U-16 and U-18 national teams, was a member of Gaetano D' Agostino between 2002 and 2004 the trained Claudio Gentile U- 21 team in Italy and won with the team the title at the U- 21 Championship 2004 in Germany.

On November 16, 2008 D' Agostino was first nominated for the cadres of the senior national team, came in a friendly against Greece but not used. His debut for the Azzurri gave the midfielder on June 6, 2009, Marcello Lippi in the 3-0 win against Northern Ireland in Pisa.
