Galina Prozumenshchikova

Galina Nikolaevna Prosumenschtschikowa (Russian Галина Николаевна Прозуменщикова; * November 26, 1948 in Sevastopol, Soviet Union) is a former swimmer who competed for the USSR.

She was one of the best breast swimmers of the sixties and seventies of the 20th century and was at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 1964 under her maiden name Galina Stepanova as the first Russian Olympic swimming champion. She won the 200m breast. They also collected more medals and was among other 1970 first European champion over 100 m breaststroke.

In 1977, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
